Pears, Apples and Poppies still life

15x22 watercolor on matboard that was gessoed first, then drawn and painted.  This is remarkably like working on Yupo synthetic paper with its ability to allow paint to sit on the surface.

Kay this is a very interesting composition. I like the repeated wood and the shapes it creates. The fruit reflections are also very nice.

I love the relexions of the fruits and the texture of the wood. One day I will try to paint on gesso, it's seems to be funny.

Beautiful! Question: is this clear or white gesso? I have so much matboard around and this sounds like a great way to use it. Love it!

I used white gesso, and only brushed it on at random on the matboard, not covering it 100%.
