Thunderstorm

22x30 watercolor on Saunders 140 lb cold press, painted on 16 October at Frank Francese's workshop, Lubbock Texas. An imaginary scene, it was done using 2" brush, American Journey paints on dry paper, no pencil drawn shapes, layering color on top of color quickly in about 2 hours. The subject is actually the clouds not the buildings or cows.

Hi Kay, The clouds are certainly dramatic, the kind I expect in the Southwest! I like how the curve of the cows and landscape below leads the eye to the clouds. Done with no drawing and in 2 hours! I'm in awe!

This great, Kay..as usual. Knew it was your signature color selection and brushwork. With your free and easy style, I am sure you loved FF's workshop. Please post this on Artcolony.

Again, you've created a beautiful watercolor painting! I would be surprised at anything less. The clouds are glorious!

Woven Flowers of Passion

15x22 work is actually two identically painted scenes of pink roses in front of a house. The original was ho-hum boring so a few years late...
