Trumpet of the Lord ~ Happy Easter

22x15 watercolor on Italia acquerello 140 lb cold press paper, painted several years ago. The angel was actually cemetery statuary so I removed its base and portrayed the figure as if floating in clouds.  Hope everyone had a happy Easter Sunday!

Gaudy an Angel collage

15x22 collage over watercolor with acrylics. I used a previous failed angel painting that I'd redone twice with no luck, gluing Veranda magazine cutouts at random. She is so gaudy now that just had to name her that as a pun for Guardian angel.

Cheeky Cherub

22x15 Caran d'Ache watersoluble crayons on Saunders 140 CP paper with colored pencil. This work is another for our upcoming holiday angels exhibition with Caboose Watercolor Society.

Unseen Servant

15x22 watercolor on Fabriano 140 lb hot press paper, American Journey paints. Drawn from an antiques store statue, this praying angel offers up her prayers for us earthlings. The background is made up.

The hymn "When the Roll is Called up Yonder" came to mind and the verse "When the trumpet of the Lord shall sound and time shall be no more, and the morning breaks eternal bright and fair..."
