Saguaro Sun Flowers
22x15 watercolor redo of an earlier painting entitled Odessa Sunflowers. With this endeavor, I've placed cactus line drawings on tracing paper over the image then drew those lines painting in and around the new shapes. This one was done on 140 lb Kilimanjaro cold press paper back in May. Original piece was a demo done for the Odessa Art Association in April 2015.

Prickly Pink Saguaro
15x11 watercolor on Grumbacher 140 lb cold press paper done first week of June, another imaginary cactus in my series of desert plants. I added shapes and colors to the background to mimic other saguaros surrounding the main one.

Saguaro Fire
7x5.25 watercolor on Canson 140 lb cold press painted a few days ago, expanding upon my series of saguaro cactus scenes. I this, the landscape can be seen as red hot desert land. Darks made with indigo and sepia and carbazole violet.

Saguaro Cactus and Crows
5.5x4 mixed media on Canson 140 lb cold press paper done last week during my cactus series. I used the paper that had already been marked with alcohol inks and acrylics then did India ink on the cactus and crows.

Southwest Orchid Cactus
6x9 watercolor and ink line on 140 lb cold press paper done today. The right side is part of an abstract that just didn't work. I took the cactus sketch and moved it around until it meshed with the other parts, then painted it in southwestern desert hues. Ink lines are done with STA Lictin .08 pen.

Tall Flowering Cactus
