Blind Contour Tabbycat

8.5x5.5 mixed media over ink line blind contour cat in sketchbook done a few days ago then finished today. Using Micron 01 and STA Lictin pens, dark lines were crosshatched, then multi-lead Koh-I-Noor colored pencils for eyes and ears, burnt sienna Brusho wc crystals sprinkled into wet water on the cat's chest. White acrylic brushed under chin to eliminate unwanted line. Background was royal blue Montana acrylic marker. COPYRIGHT Kay Smith 2024

Blind Contour Cat

7.75x5 watercolor using Rosa Gallery paints made in Ukraine on Canson mixed media paper done earlier in the week as part of my Monday weekly art class. Blind contour line sketch is drawing done without looking at your paper and trying not to lift the pencil or pen if you want continuous line. Lots of fun! Never know what you'll end up with painting. Bleached Blonde

12x9 mixed media demo on Grumbacher 140 lb cold press paper done last week during my Monday class. A blind contour drawing with white crayon was first, then bleeding art tissue laid on top, spritzed with water till colors began flowing then removed. 30 Faces in 30 Days ~ Sktchy Class

8.25x5.25 STA Lictin ink pen blind contour sketch in vintage book as the first sketch of the new year.  Sktchy art site offers various challenges and this is their 30 faces in 30 days.  A new image is given to the class every day with instructions.  My finished face at the top is with gouache added, then Montana acrylic markers for the background.

Poppy Cup

9x6 watercolor and Brusho on Canson 140 lb cold press paper done today.  I did a blind contour pencil sketch for the poppy and made up the rest as that's about the only way to get looser lines.  Brusho was applied first in Orange to its petals, and two greens were used for the foliage.  Background is indigo and ultramarine blue.
