Gardener's Bike

9x6.5 watercolor, a daily painting, of an old garden shed and the worker's bike and basket.  Photo ref courtesy WetCanvas/Susan.  I edited lots of the photo out such as foreground, middle ground, items on the bike and clutter around the shed's entrance, and top right I added blue sky.  In the foreground I added multicolored poppies.

Old Barn and Trees

2.5x3.5 watercolor miniature on Arches 140 lb cold press paper done today, an exercise in painting negative shapes using only two values, dark and light.  In this imaginary scene winter has moved in to stay.  Colors used:  Quinacridone burnt orange, ultramarine blue, and sepia.  Actual size of this art card edition original can be seen below.

White Barns

7.5 x 11 watercolor, first painted a few years ago, then the other day unframed it and reworked parts of it.  I don't do too many landscapes but this scene is one of my favorites.  Landscapes are fine as long as there are some signs of life such as animals or buildings.

Hay Barn and Silos

15x22 watercolor imaginary farm scene on Saunders 140 lb paper, painted wet in wet.  From the chickens pecking in the foreground to hay stacked inside and the blue skies above this painting brings back many memories of farm life and the hard work that goes with it.
