April Ruby Throated Hummer
8.5x5.5 watercolor on 80 lb sketchbook paper done earlier in the month using Daniel Smith paints. With this close up view of the mighty little hummingbird I've tried to show its spin and spit, grin and grit.

August Hummingbird
7.75x7.75 alcohol inks, gouache, ink pen on white slick foamcore done this afternoon first by scattering Willow green on top of spritzed 91% alcohol. July Hummer
4x5 watercolor for this second day of World Watercolor Month, a quick one I dashed off after teaching this afternoon. Sketched on a scrap of backing paper, Canson 140 lb cold press, the pinkish red shapes made perfect petals for the hummingbird to target. Other colors such as yellow green were also found in the bird.
