Spruced up for Winter

Autumn Mood

12x9 watercolor done last week on Canson 140 lb cold press paper, an imaginary grouping of trees and a background of multilayered fall colors. The golden hues were put in wet in wet quickly and when dry the trees stark branches, trunks, etc., were added with a script liner #1 brush in warm sepia. COPYRIGHT 2022 Kay Smith

Tree Trunks in Snow

6.5x8.25 watercolor on 140 lb cold press paper done over the weekend, a simple scene of sunlit snow surrounding bare trees and branches.  The cooler hued shadows fall over animal tracks and parts that have melted in this winter landscape.
