Black Pansy
7.5x5.5 watercolor on Lanaquarelle 140 lb hot press paper done over the weekend from one of my pansy photo refs. I did a monthly challenge on WetCanvas spotlighting dark or black flowers in their Florals forum. I still have a large black hollyhocks to paint soon. Mixing my own black I used alizarin crimson and thalo green, two of the most transparent colors. For variety I also added UB and carbazole violet to the mix.
