June Rose
8x6 watercolor on handmade rough 140 lb cold press paper done first week of the month for this not too realistic June rose. Love to paint plants and flowers in water as simple still life subjects.

Regal Rose
9x3 watercolor using White Nights paints on Canson 140 lb cold press along with STA Lictin 0.8 ink technical pen. This vertical watermedia floral could be matted and framed for a nice slender look, or used for a fancy floral bookmark. My imaginative rose appears to be bursting at the seams.

Old Romance
6x8 watercolor on Fabriano 140 lb cold press paper completed today of a romantic still life with old antique books, pearls, a red rose and a burning candle. Look closely to see the bottom book and pearls reflection in the glass tabletop. This is my entry for this month's miniature forum on WetCanvas.

Valentine Rose
6x6 watercolor and ink line wash on Masters paper using Micron 01 pen and Daniel Smith paints. Drawn from life this afternoon in about 5 minutes using a dark red rose that was in my birthday bouquet, I quickly added several hues from pink to magenta to new gamboge to royal red blending all together. Thanks to my friend Barb for the flowers!

Recipe for Romance - Wine, Roses, Valentines!
15x11 watercolor done this afternoon with Valentine's Day in mind. After drawing in all the elements of wine glasses, rose and leaves, I painted wet on dry. When finished, I took an old red paper heart stencil and painted its holes in heart patterns to provide detail at the bottom foreground. A little Chablis and Chardonnay go a long way for romance and if he puts the rose in his mouth, I'm his...

Red Rose Deep - using inks
7x4 India inks on 140 lb Saunders Waterford watercolor paper, drawn with colored pencil then inked over the lines. I used a deep red silk rose. This is my first full ink painting using Dr. Ph. Martin's products and really do enjoy the vivid hues.
