Rural Homestead
10x8 watercolor using White Nights paints on Canson 117 lb cold press paper. This imaginary farm or ranch homestead could be where any of us grew up. I painted it the second week of June while out of town.

Barn Sunset
7x9 watercolor on Masters Touch 80 lb paper done last week or so ago from one of my many barn reference photos. Here the sun is slowly going down on the country farm landscape and its light can be seen through the open spaces in the barn's frame.

Abandoned Farmhouse
11.5x17 watercolor on 140 lb. Saunders cold press, an imaginary scene using negative painting. The country farmhouse is from a photo of one I took in Colorado City years ago. Even though the house is abandoned the flowers still bloom and the grass grows.

Field Barn
15x22 watercolor vignette on a half sheet of Canson 140 lb cold press paper done last week, painting wet on dry in a direct manner. A few areas had more than one glaze of this old barn structure out in a field.

Utah Barn
15x11 watercolor on Canson 140 lb cold press paper drawn and painted yesterday for a weekend drawing event; photo courtesy WetCanvas! host Patrice. This old useless ramshackle barn is falling down along with the old wooden fences and corrals of bygone ranching days. I used a b&w print and ignoring local color, made up my own, with foreboding dark skies, distant hills, middle and foreground weeds and foliage.
