Emperor Penguin
15x11 watercolor, which was a demo for North Light Books PQR: Birds & Butterflies (2008) along with a house sparrow illustration/demo. This imaginary fellow is enjoying his cold domain, lifting his head to heaven so thankful for his snowy world and wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Penguin in Pearls collage
This is the other challenge finished in which you had to do your previous one in collage using paper cut-outs. I chose to use Veranda magazine ads torn from old mags and made to fit. I placed them on with Yes! paste and matte medium onto Crescent matboard.Size is 13.25 x 10 inches.
Now this afternoon was total fun making him debonair and dapper in his tux and pearls
