5x3.5 watercolor on 140 lb Fabriano cold press paper sketched and painted today while waiting out the ice storm. By the Sea

16x12 watercolor of a white wicker chair, fresh lemon squares and hydrangeas on a porch by the sea.  In this scene one can imagine sitting quietly on a summer afternoon savoring sights, sounds, and smells of the waterfront.  This work is SOLD.

Poolside

22x15 watercolor imaginary scene based on our old pool and me in a floating lounger without a care in the world.  Different levels of potted plants flank the poolside figure in repose.  This was completed today on Kilimanjaro 140 lb cold press paper with Daniel Smith/American Journey paints.

Flamingo Friends

20x30 watercolor on Strathmore 500 series heavy wt. plate illustration board painted today in about 2 hours 25 minutes as part of WetCanvas! weekend drawing event.  I had not worked on IB in many years and it was quite fun, different from Yupo but still allowing for looseness and depicting these water birds in watercolor.

Last One in's a Rotten Egg

12x24 watercolor imaginary scene of myself far left and two cousins playing in the lake when we were younger.  Those were the days!
"The last one in is a rotten egg!" you could hear us yelling as we ran to jump off the dock into the cold water of Lake JB Thomas.

Garden Nook

10 3/4 x 16 inches, watercolor on 300 lb Saunders paper, a totally imaginary scene of a quiet place to sit, read, or rest awhile.  My basket of roses and straw hat are on the old concrete bench while a trellis supports other garden plants and flowers.

Beach Babe

18x24 on Canson Montval 140 lb cold press block from one of the children photographed years ago on one of my Puerto Rican trips; photo was in black and white so all color is imaginary. Last night I began this painting but have had her drawn for quite awhile, then finished up this morning.

Summer on a Fork - daily painting

8.5x11 watercolor beach scene/still life combo dreamed up by me who is so desperate to see water, any kind of water and the ocean looks pretty inviting even if it isn't real.  Here the sand stops the tide as the eye seeks the horizon where sea meets sky.  Meanwhile a red melon is being devoured by someone enjoying their summer.  Please send rain to West Texas!!!
