Down Mexico Way
10x8 acrylics on canvas using two palette knives done last week. In the Acrylics forum on WetCanvas a monthly challenge was to choose your own building(s) ref and do it with a limited palette of three colors, plus small amounts of white and black if needed. I choose blue, red, yellow ochre. Sides are painted also so no framing necessary. Reference is a southwestern adobe style home.

Adobe Gate
6.5x4.5 mixed media using watercolor, white gel pen, Brusho, and ink with STA 0.1 pen on tan sketch paper, an imaginary gate into an adobe setting in the southwest. In this miniature I tried to show a glimpse into a desert way of life.

Adobe Shadows
12x9 watercolor on Canson 140 lb cold press paper sketched this weekend then finished yesterday in the studio. The adobe sits in New Mexico and could not resist the ladder shadows and building side shadows in that amazing light that exists only there.

Tucson Adobe
15x15 watercolor of an old adobe church house finished yesterday, shot on one of many trips to Tucson, Arizona. From the grey brown hills behind the it, to the cactus, red yucca, and other vegetation this southwest desert scene is sure to enchant you. Its wooden cross with a bell beside it to keep it company rounds out the composition while dark clouds move across the sky. I particularly enjoy its decorated doorway and vigas.
