Crows are Landing

6x6 watercolor on Masters Touch sketchbook done over the past weekend using only a loaded brush, no pre-drawing with pencil. Inspiration for these aspens and crows were the photos taken over the previous weekend while in the mountains. Autumn Mood

12x9 watercolor done last week on Canson 140 lb cold press paper, an imaginary grouping of trees and a background of multilayered fall colors. The golden hues were put in wet in wet quickly and when dry the trees stark branches, trunks, etc., were added with a script liner #1 brush in warm sepia. COPYRIGHT 2022 Kay Smith

Fall is Coming

12x9 watercolor on Canson 140 lb cold press paper, brush only, no pencil drawing.  This was done last week over an underpainting, just a few random placed imaginary trees waiting for fall.  In 22 days we will have the fall equinox.
