Countryside Barn

11x6.5 watercolor on Saunders 140 lb cold press paper, done the second day of Tim Oliver's workshop held at the Midland Palette Club on March 23-25. (Ref courtesy of instructor). Using mostly Daniel Smith paints this was done wet on dry using lots of water with large mop brush. I enjoyed painting this old barn and farm setting located somewhere in west Texas. Old Mail Pouch Barns

7x9 watercolor in Masters Touch sketchbook 80 lb paper done week before last from one of my earlier barn photos I have painted before. Love the old advertising Mail Pouch tobacco signs that are seen in some very old farm barns in the American landscape. COPYRIGHT 2024 Kay Smith

Behind the Barn

5.5x8.5 watercolor using White Nights paints done last week using no reference, a glimpse into farm life behind the barn. Probably everyone's barn had a corner where fence meets the building. In this scene, I have weeds growing tall, while fields can be seen in the distance. COPYRIGHT 2022 Kay Smith
