Morning Coffee
6x8 watercolor on handmade rough 140 lb cold press paper done last month, another in my series of coffee cups and coffee. I really liked how this one turned out with its more energetic color tones and vibes.

National Coffee Day! White Cup on Red Cloth
National Coffee Day! White Cup on Red Cloth
11x8.5 watercolor on Stonehenge 140 lb cold press paper done for National Coffee Day. This simple white cup about half full of coffee looks like an easy still life subject but it was anything but! Multiple ellipses and curves to get just right so many washes were painted before finishing. Sepia was the perfect hue for black coffee.

Coffee Break
8x8 watercolor on 140 lb cold press Masters Touch premium paper done last week on a cold morning with a cup of hot coffee, my favorite breakfast beverage. This simple still life is comforting and warming at the same time.

National Coffee Day
It is National Coffee Day! This is titled "PerkFection" and a day is always perfect once it is begun with that strong beverage with no cream no sugar. Size 8.5x5.5 mixed media on Bienfang sketchbook of a stainless steel percolator (people still use those? I do) and coffee cup with roses. After ink line drawing done with Micron 01 pen, watercolor was added to pot, cup, and table. Background is blue and red Montana acrylic markers.

White Coffee Cup on Red Cloth
11x8.5 watercolor on Stonehenge 140 lb cold press paper done over the weekend for another online event I was hosting. This simple white cup about half full of coffee looks like an easy still life subject but it was anything but! Multiple ellipses and curves to get just right so many washes were painted before finishing. Sepia was the perfect hue for black coffee.

Coffee for Two
10.5x6.5 watercolor on gessoed matboard done today for another WetCanvas weekend drawing event. I try to do these each week but don't always manage. The challenge was to paint a black subject in honor of Black Friday so I chose my favorite beverage: Coffee!
