Woven Flowers of Passion
15x22 work is actually two identically painted scenes of pink roses in front of a house. The original was ho-hum boring so a few years later did another exactly like it as I'd saved the drawing. I got the idea of weaving them together after seeing the work of Nancy Maas, which is much looser and not as tightly woven. One painting you cut wavy strips horizontally, and the other cut vertical strips, then weave in and out. When done I vacuum mounted onto acid free matboard to frame it. Now it looks much more interesting!

Blind Contour Cat
7.75x5 watercolor using Rosa Gallery paints made in Ukraine on Canson mixed media paper done earlier in the week as part of my Monday weekly art class. Blind contour line sketch is drawing done without looking at your paper and trying not to lift the pencil or pen if you want continuous line. Lots of fun! Never know what you'll end up with painting.

Horse Sketch in Ink
8.5x5.5 ink using black Tombow brush pen on Master's Touch 80 lb paper in sketchbook done last week or so ago. I like using the brush pen as you can add water to it and get instant results that mimic watercolor.

Party Owl
12x12 acrylics on wrapped canvas done for last Friday's paint in class at a local church group. Multiple layers of colors make this fun abstracted owl a true piece of wonder art.

Pear Study
Pear Study
8x5.5 mixed media of my pear, drawn today before I ate it. At first it was too pretty to eat. After studying it awhile I got out my black Pigma Micron 01 pen and Strathmore Visual Journal for mixed media and drew the whole pear. Then I cut it in half until seeds visible, and drew that along with its end and other sections including the core. Then I took apart the seeds and sketched those. Crosshatching was done for dark areas. Media used was ink, watercolor, and colored pencils; the CPs were "color-sanded" into wet areas with fine grit sandpaper so the tiny specks you see are CP pigment bits. When dry, I stamped 'pears' in black ink at the top and flicked wet paint spray. An enjoyable Bartlett pear for sure after studying it first.

Young Elephant
Young Elephant
6x4 India ink plus grey Brusho crystals on Joggles sketchbook paper done a few days ago. I used a wooden chopstick to sketch the young elephant in ink and when dry, wet the paper and sprinkled Brusho.
