Union Street House
12x9 watercolor and ink (Pigma Micron 01 pen) done on accounting paper, a sketch done for Sketchbook Skool, on location for Polishing course several years ago. This old white stucco house is on Union Street here in town and has been abandoned many years. I loved the old crumbling roof shingles above the rusty screen door. A few days ago I drove past there and it has further deteriorated.

Abandoned Farmhouse
11.5x17 watercolor on 140 lb. Saunders cold press, an imaginary scene using negative painting. The country farmhouse is from a photo of one I took in Colorado City years ago. Even though the house is abandoned the flowers still bloom and the grass grows.

Old Homestead with Owl
12x9 watercolor on Canson 140 lb cold press paper painted today for the weekend drawing event on WetCanvas in which participants have 2 hours to choose then complete their art. I used a portion of an old rundown abandoned structure then tried to make a vignette by losing at least three edges. The owl was added to the roof as if he was surveying what tree or old window opening to use for a nest. For the darks I used neutral tint and ultramarine blue.

Sinister Street Haunted House
15x22 watercolor just in time for Halloween night on Sinister Street. This old dilapidated frame house was an image in WetCanvas Weekend Drawing Event, courtesy of Dana. You're allowed 2 hours to draw and/or paint your composition and post your progress. Total time was about 3 hours for me. At the 2 hour mark I'd not done all the background trees nor the foreground grasses and weeds. HAPPY HALLOWEEN night, everybody!
