Gull Glare
6x8 watercolor and Brusho on Fluid 100 hot press 140 lb paper done first of the month; ref courtesy WetCanvas artist host. I enjoyed the gull who seemed to be glaring at something in its environment.

Shell Show
6x6 watercolor on Masters Touch paper 80 lb done last week when I hosted the WetCanvas weekend drawing event. These shells were too pretty to not paint them as they were on the beach.

Seaside Shells
6 1/8 x 6 3/4 watercolor on a scrap of Saunders 140 lb CP that had pale yellow, blue, and pink wash underpainting. I drew imaginary shells and water then when dry splattered white and raw sienna mix to resemble seafoam and water on the beach. These small seaside themed still lifes are fun to paint.

Blue Vase and Seashells - Day 19
8x5.5 watercolor and ink on Strathmore Visual Journal for watercolor done today, a simple still life set up with vivid blues, yellows, and soft beige seashells by the window. The yellow pompom flowers from Hobby Lobby are more of a greenish hue than this shows.
Also since 9-1-15, I've posted daily works on Leslie Saeta's #30paintingsin30days challenge she hosts annually on her blog Slices of Life you can see HERE.

Shell Game
5.5 x 7.5 watercolor on 140 lb Arches cold press paper, AJ paints, done today in about 45 minutes. Some negative painting, splattering, and minimal glazing can be seen here. Shells are imaginary. I tried to emulate water softly ebbing and flowing over the tiny stones, beach debris, and shells partially submerged. THIS PAINTING IS SOLD.
