Soft Pink Purple Flower
6x4 alcohol inks on professional photo paper done a few days ago using only two colors: Eggplant and Shell Pink. Stem was etched in using a chopstick with a dot of Lettuce green on the tip. Canned air used to push the pigmented alcohol upwards from the flower base. (*NOTE ~ I will be giving a one day ink class Jan. 20 in Big Spring and another tentative date of Feb.3, 2018.)

Painted Poppies
5x7 alcohol inks on Yupo done yesterday, another abstract background I was not fond of, so diluted the inks with blending fluid then dropped two different reds. Blowing through a straw from the bloom base, the round poppy shapes appeared.

#InkTober day 30 ~ Garden Glory/alcohol inks
6x9 alcohol inks on freezer paper, shiny side, begun yesterday as a demo for Colorado City artists, then completed today in time to post for our almost last #InkTober effort. I began by dropping sapphire blue ink, then juniper green, follwerd by honeycomb then yellow. As colors mingled and formed their own abstract this one reminded me of a garden fading in the warm fall days. The substrate, or support, freezer paper will be archivally attached to watercolor paper with gel medium and a brayer. Only one more day of the month for #InkTober! The challenge has been fun and very informative as I was not using this medium last year during October.

September Sunflower ~ alcohol inks on Yupo
7x11 alcohol inks on Yupo done tonight as a demo for Big Spring Art Association and also for day #20 with Leslie Saeta 30 day challenge. Beginning with yellow dropped onto alcohol prepped Yupo, quickly added magenta then red. When about dry, blue was put in for the third primary color, resulting in green. The group seemed to enjoy seeing new products used to create art.
