Mature Bull Buffalo

Buffalo Bill
10x8 acrylic gouache on wrapped canvas done a few weeks ago for an online challenge. I am host for November Acrylics forum on WetCanvas!and the challenge is to create a painting using mixed browns, no tube color. Using Liquitex brand a.g. these browns are made from primaries plus white and/or black on my own reference. This buffalo art has been varnished.

Buffalo Collage
12x12 torn paper collage on wrapped canvas done last week, a profile view of a wild bison or buffalo of the Great Plains or Yellowstone. For its eye I used a black woman's bra photo and other fun surprises within the animal shape. Sides are also in collage and art is varnished; no frame needed.

Buffalo Sunset
15x15 acrylics on 140 lb cold press Canson paper, done last week using an acrylic abstract I'd done before as a background. This reminded me of a sunset and the buffalo's profile was a good idea to place over that design.

Brusho Buffalo
8x8 Brusho watercolor crystals on Canson 140 lb cold press paper done over the weekend/ref courtesy WetCanvas. Brusho colors used: Grey, black, dark brown, and burnt sienna. Snow flecks made using a loaded brush of white gouache. Background was a mix of American Journey's Coastal Fog and the white.

Old Buffalo Resting
