Friesian Mare
9x12 watercolor on Canson 140 lb cold press paper. For the dark brown I've mixed a limited palette of ultramarine blue and quinacridone burnt orange; this was painted wet on dry.

Black Horse
8x8 watercolor on 140 lb cold press paper drawn and painted today. The sun and light were hitting parts of his forelock and mane so I added oranges and golds to go with the predominantly bluish black of his coat. Left side background was left white.

Weak Newborn Foal ~ #InkTober day 15
5x3.75 ink sketch using Lictin 0.2 pen on Fluid 140 lb wc paper, and watercolor for day 15 of #InkTober.
The prompt for today was the word 'weak' so it was a choice either for a weak kitten or a weak baby horse. This knobby kneed little fellow is not able to stand on his own yet. Only 16 more days to go of #InkTober!
