Poppy Parts miniature ACEO

2.5x3.5 mixed media on 140 lb Langton cold press paper done today.  Beginning with red and scarlet Brusho, crystals were sprinkled onto wet paper and allowed to mingle with the help of a brush till dry. Then a Lictin 0.8 pen sketched black line petals and poppy center.  Watercolor, thalo yellow green, was used last to highlight its center parts.

Rose Impressions

6.5x11 watercolor and pink/crimson Brusho crystals done today on 140 lb cold press Langton paper.  Yesterday I started it by spritzing water over dry paper at random then applying two new colors, Holbein's Bright Pink and Opera over wet areas.  Then Brusho was sprinkled over that and again water spritzed over the scattered crystals.  I used canned air to blow the wet pigment for an abstract background. When dry today I began isolating white and pink shapes reminiscent of roses and negatively painted those and green leaves and stems.  Quinacridone violet and alizarin crimson are the shadowed areas using a #1 script liner brush.

Brusho Rose on Yupo

7x5 Brusho (powdered watercolor crystals) peace rose done this afternoon on Yupo synthetic paper.  First spritz a fine mist onto the support, then shake yellow, red, scarlet, ultramarine blue, purple, green, and emerald green, diluting with water and a #8 round brush.  Let colors mix and mingle for a pleasing pop of perfect watermedia floral.
