Spring Tulip Trio

Tiptoe thru the Tulips

14x8 watercolor on Fluid 140 lb cold press paper done a few days ago for an online WetCanvas challenge. Participants are given 10 images and are to select one to draw then paint in 2 hours. I cropped the ref photo courtesy Christine and added my own pink colors and leaves rendering the garden loosely.

February Tulips

15x11 watercolor on 140 lb cold press Bienfang paper drawn and painted from life today.  My tulips are pink though so had to improvise and add other hues such as orange, yellow, and red.

Petal Pushers - Tulips Demo

My hunter green wall adds a complementary punch to the vivid orange reds. I will be posting each step here as a demo lesson; this is the finished Petal Pushers on Saunders 140 lb paper.

Red Velvet

At a full sheet watercolor, 22x30 inches, this size is large yet impressive. I keep painting and posting more florals hoping for Spring to decide to arrive SOON. The sooner the better. These tulips were done wet in wet with 2" and 3" brushes.

It is Raining Flowers!
