Magic Lotus
4x6 mixed media on 140 lb cold press watercolor paper done last week using acrylics and ink line over a cut up watercolor. The lotus bloom appeared as if by magic over its abstract background.

Party Pods
15x22 watercolor on Fabriano 140 lb rough paper and Daniel Smith paints done today using only a black & white photo. So all color is made up, following the values present in the photo copy. One lone lotus blossom rises amongst the partiers who sing and dance above a sea of lilypads.

Reflection Waterlily Leaf
15x11 watercolor on Fabriano 140 lb cold press rough paper and Daniel Smith paints. This pond scene was my second demo yesterday for the class. We studied atmospheric effects in water such as this leaf reflection. My colors are exaggerated of course, no plain browns and greens here.
