Chickadee on Ice
5.5x8.5 watercolor on Masters Touch paper in sketchbook, done last week while in the mountains. I used White Nights paints. This small chickadee is perched on the ice edge looking at the frozen water hoping for a drink.

December Chickadee
6x8 watercolor and gouache on Hahnemuhle 95 lb grey toned paper done yesterday; ref courtesy Joy K. as part of WetCanvas Animal/Wildlife challenge this month. I edited the background and added a winter scene using white gouache for snow.
