Green Grapes on Red Plate
7x9 watercolor using White Nights paints on 80 lb sketchbook paper done last weekend. Ref courtesy Rousay/UK. I enjoyed her simple still life of Thompson seedless grapes on the red orange plate.

Ribbon Parade
6x1.75 alcohol inks/watercolor on watercolor paper, a pulled print image that already had the curved shapes painted. I've used a complementary color scheme of greens and reds in this abstraction.

Red Petunias
5x7 alcohol inks on white foamcore painted yesterday. With the reds and greens this sets up a nice complementary color combination; a bit of yellow gold is seen here and there. This abstract reminded me of petunias hence the title.

Ladybug
8.5x5.5 watercolor and ink line on paper, a close up macro view of such a tiny but important insect. With Pigma Micron 01 pen I sketched the bug's outline then filled in details followed by watercolor. I enjoy painting using complementary colored compositions such as red and green.

Ripest Cherries
10.25x9 watercolor and ink on sketchbook paper done today. Using a Micron 01 pen I sketched the cherry fruit outlines and stems. I could not find my tube of Daniel Smith thalo blue green or turquoise so mixed thalo blue with green to get this hue for a complementary color scheme. Reds are: Grumbacher red, transparent pyrrol orange, permanent rose, alizarin crimson, quinacridone violet, carbazole violet, then indigo.
