Chickadee at the Feeder
11.5x7.5 mixed media collage on wc paper done week before last. Ref courtesy Cindy on WetCanvas for a challenge this month. I first painted the chickadee as 4x3 miniature but chopped its tail which necessitated putting it into a larger format. Materials included newsprint, watercolor, acrylics, Montana markers, Micron 03 ink pen, Winsor Newton grey fine liner pen, various collage, and a black Sharpie marker. Love this bohemian looking bird art.

Chickadee on Ice
5.5x8.5 watercolor on Masters Touch paper in sketchbook, done last week while in the mountains. I used White Nights paints. This small chickadee is perched on the ice edge looking at the frozen water hoping for a drink.

Winter Chickadee
9.5x7 mixed media in Ecosystem sketchbook done week before last for another online event which I am hosting. Sketched in hard charcoal, I used watercolor pencils for the color then Brusho watercolor crystals for the background in this wildlife nature scene of a black-capped chickadee.

Contemporary Chickadee
5x7 acrylic on matboard, another in my chickadee series. For this
background I used a detail section of another painting which featured brocade pillows. With this view there are
actually two pillow patterns used. In designing this bird it took
about 2 days; colors are vivid flat shapes with little if any shading.
