Cotton Candy abstraction
5x7 alcohol inks on Yupo synthetic paper finished today. Yesterday I began with one pink color then did a pulled print from another ink that was only indigo blue for the dark blues seen here. Today flamingo pink was added with blending solution and 91% alcohol for mixed, swirled effects created by using canned air in this abstraction. It reminds me of cotton candy at the fair.

Blue Heavens
5.5x4.25 alcohol inks on paper recently done using only a couple of ink colors. It is interesting to see how their composition will separate into other hues in an abstract manner with little effort by the artist.

Black and Green Thistle
5x7 alcohol inks on Yupo synthetic paper, a demo done during September's ink class. I was showing the students how to begin with light colored inks first and end with the darkest ones last. If not, mud can result. The round droplet areas made by scattering 91% alcohol drops onto the dried ink.

Watermelon was next with more yellow, blowing air to make petal shapes. For the stem I put down Willow then Lettuce on top of that. Overall mixing done with canned air and a large drinking straw.

Pink Sun
4x6 alcohol ink on professional photo paper done a few days ago, experimenting with some pink inks in different hues. The center circle reminded me of the sun, hence the title.
