Rancho de Taos Summer Sky
14.75x22.25 watercolor on Daler Rowney Prestige 140 lb cold press paper completed last week. I've painted from my photos from there before, changing color of the mission church from brown to white, for a different take. Since the building is plain except for the bell tower, I've added foliage on both left and right sides of the landscape.

San Geronimo Church at Taos Pueblo
22x15 watercolor on 140 lb cold press Saunders paper, another southwestern landscape I painted and SOLD back in 1995. I love this quiet and tranquil scene indicative of the area and spiritual atmosphere.

House of Worship
8x6 watercolor in Stillman & Birn sketchbook, Zeta series, done over last weekend for another online WetCanvas challenge. I love the church spire and steeple silhouette against the sunset sky. The turmoil in the sky adequately reflects the mood of the world towards Christian worship today while the house of worship stands tall and steadfast.

Danforth Chapel University of Kansas
6x9 watercolor on Canson 140 lb cold press paper of Danforth Chapel, University of Kansas, Lawrence, Kansas finished today. This is one of the refs provided by Rob, host of February's monthly challenge in the WetCanvas Landscape forum. Hosts provide their own references or use those in the vast image library the site has to offer. I could not resist the peaceful little chapel with its stained glass windows surrounded by snow and icy trees.

Greek Church
8x5.5 watercolor on Strathmore Visual Journal mixed media with Micron 01 pen drawn and painted today. Ref courtesy Maureen on WetCanvas who is hosting this weekend's drawing event in the All Media Art Events forum. I changed the photo somewhat by extending its edges and elongating the foreground buildings of the old church. I really like its colorful green rooftops, golden yellow flag, and 3 crosses. The bluish/purple detail trim I also made up.
