Carriage Horses

5.5x8 watercolor done from some horse photos I'd been planning on using but just hadn't.  These two were hitched together to pull their owner's carriage around the city.  Support used is Strathmore Visual Journal for watercolor and pigments are Winsor Newton travel kit.  I used a #1 rigger or script liner brush on the animals then a #6 round for background foliage and street shadows.

Wild Mane

11x15 mixed media on Masters Touch 140 lb cold press paper done today to a similar imaginary horse style I've done before.  I used a blue multicolored pencil to sketch, then Brusho in several colors on sprinkled paper, watercolor, and Caran D'Ache wax crayons.

Horse HaHa

12x9 watercolor and ink line drawing (Micron 01) on wc paper I did today.  I had made marks on it to test new acrylic markers and had put the sheet under smaller works.  The dark blue on the halter lead is part of the marker tests and has white gel pen marks as I was testing those also.  Splattering was done when almost dry on the horse's head for the dappled coat.
