Desert Canyon and Cactus

6x6 watercolor with White Nights paints on Masters Touch 80 lb paper done at first of the month from one of the many desert landscape and cactus images just waiting to be painted. COPYRIGHT 2023 Kay Smith

Canyon Sunset

5x12 watercolor on 140 lb cold press Grumbacher paper using White Nights paints done last week. No pencil sketch, just brush only in this horizontal southwestern landscape. One can imagine the desert sun's hot rays hitting the canyon rims as it goes down for the day. COPYRIGHT 2022 Kay Smith

Green Hills

11x7.5 watercolor on Arches 140 lb cold press paper, an exercise in negative painting in a landscape. Each layer was carefully planned and reminds me of desert canyons. COPYRIGHT 2021 Kay Smith
