Harvest Hay Wagon
15x22 watercolor on Arches 140 lb cold press paper, painted wet in wet from a photo taken in Midland at Alldredge Gardens. Trying to be loose and a bit abstract, I put in fresh hot colors on the cool wet paper, let blend, then finished the haystalks around the fat pumpkins.

Gorgeous Gourds
10x14 fall harvest pumpkins and gourds in an old bucket, a still life I set up a few years ago. Look closely and you can see where negative painting was done in the background. Love the colors of autumn!

Indian Corn Harvest
15x11 of multicolored harvest corn, an imaginary scene painted today in an hour using only a #28 round brush on Italia 140 lb watercolor paper. No drawing was done. I spritzed the paper then began laying in darks first, a mix of Midnight Blue and Copper Kettle (American Journey) tube paints. Other colors are Daniel Smith.

Harvest Crows
This watercolor is 1/4 sheet, which in our lingo is one fourth of a full sheet measuring 22x30 inches. I drew this scene while in the New Mexico mountains on Friday. Lots of harvest ideas and decorations are out in town now and painting crows is total fun. Nobody likes them. They are black, though, and add a nice punch to the imaginary scene and pumpkin field...or I could've added black cats but that would be too Hallowe'en-ish.
