Funky Flowers
6x13 mixed media collage on paper done previously. Over an alcohol ink underpainting I collaged white and patterned tissue paper and part of a cocktail napkin. When dry, I stamped blue acrylic using a round bottle lid, then color in floral shapes was added using a 1" flat sponge brush in acrylics. Part of the inks show through. Lastly oil pastels were used as graphic accent marks. This work is mounted on matboard.

Stained Glass Tulips
8.5x5.5 watercolor and ink done today by taking a photo reference, cropping into it to isolate two blooms, then sketching them with black Sharpie pen on paper. An exercise on WetCanvas had a challenge to do an image in stained glass fashion so this is as close as I got with large shapes and black lines.

Blood Red Hollyhocks
6 x 10.5 watercolor on 140 lb cold press paper, Daniel Smith/DaVinci paints, done from one of my dark red studio hollyhocks. I'm having to use photos from a few years back due to no rain this year in spring to cause them to grow and bloom. I did have one pale yellow plant and one medium pink hollyhock, though, but the roses really suffered. This work is now SOLD.

These red poppies were growing across the street from our church building and have wanted to paint them since snapping pix last spring/summer. Wet on dry watercolor, 22x15 Italia paper 140 lb cold press, Daniel Smith paints. I started this Friday and finished up today. Now am too pooped to enjoy my birthday party.
