Old Pail and Fence
8x5 watercolor on 140 lb cold press paper done a couple weeks ago for a lesson on rust. The old pail appears to have been abandoned on the fence in some rural area grown up in grasses and weeds.

Bike Bucket Hydrangeas
5x3.5 watercolor on 140 lb Fabriano cold press paper sketched and painted today while waiting out the ice storm. No water in the studio so did this miniature imaginary floral scene depicting warmer times and warmer climes. I love painting old metal buckets and rusty bicycles.

Bucket of Blooms - Primula Pail
6x6 watercolor and ink (Pigma Micron 01 pen/Daniel Smith watercolors) on Masters paper, drawn and painted as today's daily work.
The primulas, or primroses, are so varied and colorful and they looked right at home in my old metal bucket.

Gorgeous Gourds
10x14 fall harvest pumpkins and gourds in an old bucket, a still life I set up a few years ago. Look closely and you can see where negative painting was done in the background. Love the colors of autumn!
