Siamese Face
8x5.5 mixed watermedia on Strathmore Visual Journal for mixed media done yesterday. I used CaliArt markers, Brusho watercolor crystals, and colored pencils in this contemporary cat pet portrait. I mixed dark and medium brown colors of Brusho and applied them with a brush. This is a frontal view of my Jezebel whom I had for 18 years, too short a time actually.

Tribute to Jezebel Object of My Affection
Today's post is dedicated to the memory of my studio cat Jezebel as seen in this 2012 watercolor. Below is a copy of the original post and this work was published in The Artistic Touch series by Chris Unwin. Rest in peace Jezebel as you have inspired many artists!
22x15 watercolor of studio cat Jezebel taking her morning sunshine bath in a south window there. I found her as a stray kitten in 2000 so she is now 12 and still as feisty as ever. My favorite memory is that she stared down and rushed at a runaway boxer dog several years ago and didn't even have to hiss or spit as he turned and ran. Here's to your 12th birthday, sweet Jezzie!

Siamese Spring
6x6 watercolor and ink line on Masters sketchbook painted today. Previously I'd sketched Jezebel with Micron 01 pen but didn't have time to add paint. Since she was staring out the windows at sunshine I've added yellow orange, red orange with splatters of cool blues and mint green.

Studio Cat Studies
8.5x5.5 mixed media collage on paper completed yesterday of Jezebel, my studio cat. The upper left area is a small square of her bathing, a quick outline using new Lamy Safari ink pen, just a gesture sketch really. The paper was used underneath different sketchbooks to prevent paint overruns. It was too cute to throw away so collage was done, then an ink outline using Micron 01 pen of Jez sitting on kitchen table. You can see my drafting table to the left of her head and the green chair back under her chin. Studio walls are a dull green. She was born in 2000 so will be 15 this year, still alert and active but very thin and sleeps more. Media used were watercolor, inks, and collage on Masters Sketchbook.

Jezebel Napping on Old Chair
6x6 ink on paper using Tombow brush pen completed this weekend of studio cat Jezebel. One of our Sketchbook Skool assignments was to draw or sketch a live animal asleep every day for a week; not a problem as she sleeps almost all the time now at 14.

Jezebel Cat Dozing
6x6 watercolor and ink line wash on Masters paper of my studio Siamese Jezebel dozing in a southern window. The warm sun helps her 14 year old joints and bones feel better I'm sure! She is such a sweetheart and has many friends who stop by just to pet her. One of my customers even brings her cooked fresh salmon!

Sleeping Jezebel Cat
6x6 watercolor over yesterday's ink sketch on Masters paper, done today of studio Siamese Jezebel. I've tinted her pet bed pink as it is tan and brown in real life. Her bed is in a red wicker chair. She sleeps a lot now and is so thin, due to age, as she is 13ish.
