Holy Holsteins
22x30 acrylics and wax crayon on watercolor paper 140 lb cold press, a recent redo of a former version that did not quite make the cut, or cud in this case. I added red to the background buildings to indicate barns and a turquoise for the sky. Eye colors were changed for these three comical clowns of the barnyard contemporary cows work.

Milk Cows
9x10.25 mixed media on paper of three curious Jersey cows that is udderly funny. I used ink to sketch them and watercolor for their bodies, then Montana acrylic markers in blue and green for sky and grass. The middle ground is the white of the paper. Yesterday when I painted this I was wanting to use brighter colors but decided to go with local color all the way.

8.5x5.5 mixed media (watercolor, ink, Montana acrylic marker) on Bienfang sketchbook for day 26 of Leslie Saeta's 30 in 30 challenge that ends soon. This young Jersey heifer is sticking out her tongue at everyone today but she is happy the challenge is almost over. Red Montana marker is the background color of a barn.

Colorful Cows
15x22 watercolor on 140 lb Lanaquarelle hot press paper that is today's work. I sketched these bovine beauties with black India ink applicator on dry paper. With a loaded brush #12 Escoda round I put random colors together instead of the usual boring black and brown or tan. When almost done I wet a few areas then dropped ink in splotches. The girls say hello and happy moo and where's the beef?
