Tea on a Cold Day

5.5x8.5 watercolor over pencil sketch in Masters sketchbook done yesterday; ref courtesy Miniature forum on WetCanvas (reference image library).  I loved the cool blues in the cup, the powdered sugar sweets and the crocheted doily.

WIP almost done Candlelight Roses

More work was done on background lace curtains, mainly by mixing brownish greys and dropping in color while wet.  Then the foreground was made to resemble antique faded lace patterns, done on a diagonal to provide movement within the composition.  After correcting values and softening edges I'll be able to pronounce this one finished, maybe tonight or tomorrow.

Cherries Jubilee

15x22 watercolor on Arches 140 lb cold press paper done a few years ago combining more than one photo for a varied fruit and floral still life arrangement.  I especially enjoyed painting the crocheted white table doily design.

22x30 watercolor using Daniel Smith paints done week before last, on Daler Rowney Langston Prestige paper 140 lb CP. This was a commission ...
