9.5x7 colored pencils on paper done last weekend for a WetCanvas online challenge where artists have 2 hours to select an image then do a painting. I chose colored pencils as I am taking Sketchbook Skool's online klass about using the pencils and lettering. These guys seemed happy with their catch of the day.

Greek Fisherman
8.5x6 ink contour line drawing on Color Sketch tinted paper done last month, another Greek-themed work. With this WetCanvas challenge photo courtesy of Athena, we were to do a continuous contour line, which means you start at a spot and never lift up your pen. I used Micron 01 by Sakura. This old man of the sea's name is George and he owns a fish restaurant there where the catch of the day is the special. I had planned to add color but several other artists talked me out of it.

Fishermen Catch of the Day
15x22 watercolor on Saunders 140 lb cold press paper, painted wet in wet from one of my old photos taken when I lived on the East Coast. Catching and cleaning fish is a common sight along the coastal margins as is shown in this vignette. Daniel Smith paints were used: Alizarin crimson, quinacridone burnt orange, gold, and violet, aureolin, new gamboge, UB, Prussian blue, phthalo green, and mauve.
