Quickie Peace Rose
8x10 quick watercolor study on 140 lb cold press Saunders Waterford paper, of one of my last peace roses. The entire rosebush has died and was almost 10 years old with massive fragrant blooms. I was able to do some negative painting of leaves, stems, and buds with this one. This floral watercolor is SOLD!

Rich Red Rose ACEO
3.5x2.5 watercolor on 140 lb cold press paper done recently, another art card edition original miniature from one of my own roses. These minis are fun to do and don't use much or many supplies nor occupy much wall space if framed.

Impressions of Roses
14x11 watercolor on Kilimanjaro 140 lb cold press paper done today after a quick pencil contour drawing. I put in darks first as I usually do beginning with quinacridone magenta in the top rose, then permanent rose, wetting areas here and there. Some dry edges were left and some lost edges remain in this impressionist painting bouquet.

Rose Bouquet
11x14 watercolor on Kilimanjaro 140 lb cold press paper done today in about 2 hours. This one is with a group of other floral images I've featured on a WetCanvas April challenge. I decided to not let the stems touch the paper bottom and might go back into it and add a green background using Brusho.

Peace Rose in Blue and White Vase
9x9 watercolor on Bristol paper that is today's work. After looking at many of my peace rose photos one was selected that had been in full bloom to the point of it almost losing its lower petals. The paper soaks up color and water quickly so many glazes had to be done to get values right. The vase is a very small one I've used many times in various still life set ups.
