15x11 watercolor on synthetic paper Yupo of a country house with the laundry wash on the clothesline, an imaginary scene that says all is quiet out in the rural area. I placed a large tree to the left and other foliage behind the white farm house with a lush green grass lawn in the foreground.

Hang to Dry
6x9 watercolor on Canson 140 lb cold press paper done over the weekend, similar to another backyard laundry scene I painted years ago. Several wash items of clothing were changed in this version. Many people have contacted me wanting prints of that one and Artspan was unable to get a large enough size, hence the updated version. Everyone remembers the smell of fresh clothes drying on the clothesline.

Clothesline
15x19.5 watercolor on Arches 140 lb cold press paper painted wet in wet from a photograph I took here in town. This was next door to my framer and they had just put their laundry out to dry on a hot day. I used a 1" flat brush and Daniel Smith paints.

Online, Clothesline that is
22x15 watercolor on 140 lb cold press paper was done several years ago, an imaginary grouping of garments hanging out to dry in the hot summer sun. Since this fresh laundry is on a clothesline
blowing in the breeze I titled this work Online. What a very long hot and now dry summer this has been, and
we will be glad to see it gone here in Texas!

Wash Day
15x11 watercolor on Yupo synthetic paper done today. A white farmhouse sits beside clotheslines full of drying laundry in the warm sun. This is a crop from a larger photo that had additional buildings and other farm items, that I featured on a WetCanvas event. Who doesn't remember the fresh smell of line dried clothing or bedding.

Hanging Out to Dry
"Hanging Out to Dry" 5 3/4 x 8 1/2 inches, Winsor Newton paint, Saunders Waterford 300 lb cold press paper. This little mini was done in my hotel room while on a 3 day trip. I used my WN travel kit, #8 round, and the very tiny brush w/ the kit. We had clotheslines/poles just like this when I grew up and all smelled so fresh. Several articles of clothing were drawn from life or imaginary. This work is SOLD.
