Wash Day on Yupo

15x11 watercolor on synthetic paper Yupo of a country house with the laundry wash on the clothesline, an imaginary scene that says all is quiet out in the rural area.  I placed a large tree to the left and other foliage behind the white farm house with a lush green grass lawn in the foreground.

Backyard Clotheslines

6x6 5/8 watercolor on Canson 140 lb cold press paper, painted today for another WetCanvas online challenge.  Several of the towel colors were changed to enhance the design in this shady backyard scene. Who doesn't remember the fresh smell of laundry that was dried outside? I miss it.

Online, Clothesline that is

22x15 watercolor on 140 lb cold press paper was done several years ago, an imaginary grouping of garments hanging out to dry in the hot summer sun.  Since this fresh laundry is on a clothesline blowing in the breeze I titled this work Online.  What a very long hot and now dry summer this has been, and we will be glad to see it gone here in Texas!

Wash Day

15x11 watercolor on Yupo synthetic paper done today.  A white farmhouse sits beside clotheslines full of drying laundry in the warm sun.  This is a crop from a larger photo that had additional buildings and other farm items, that I featured on a WetCanvas event.  Who doesn't remember the fresh smell of line dried clothing or bedding.

Red Laundry Basket

7.5x5 watercolor on Moleskine done today of such a mundane subject, the laundry.  Everybody's got it.  Mine keeps getting piled higher and higher waiting on the weekend.  Here you can see pink socks, bright shirts, and of course, blue jeans which are always at the bottom.  Painting the clothes was easy but the basket's holes were not.
