Porch Patriotism
12x9 watercolor vignette on Canson 140 lb cold press paper recently done actually on Independence Day. My photo and painting was inspired by all the US flags we saw flying in the Denver neighborhood earlier. White Nights paints were used in this wet on dry town house scene.

Two Story White House
8x6 watercolor on paper done yesterday over a pencil sketch for a timed online weekend drawing event on WetCanvas. I have not done a house portrait in awhile so this was fun (no ruler). Unknown paper was difficult to work with from an unused sketchbook gift. Autumn had begun according to the reference as a pile of leaves was seen by front porch.

Wash Day on Yupo
15x11 watercolor on synthetic paper Yupo of a country house with the laundry wash on the clothesline, an imaginary scene that says all is quiet out in the rural area. I placed a large tree to the left and other foliage behind the white farm house with a lush green grass lawn in the foreground.

Sunflower House
6x6 watercolor and ink on Masters paper. I had previously
drawn this scene in my sketchbook but never did any more work on it.
The stylized look of the sunflowers or poppies gives the imaginary house
a fresh appeal. With high temps daily now we are all ready for
flowers, sunshine, and blue skies.

Wedding Day 1935
12x6 watercolor on Strathmore 140 lb CP done today for an online challenge. This is another artist's (Susan) mother on May Day. Ref was in black and white so color had to be improvised as well as the lawn and rosebush beside the house. To me her mom might have been wearing a wedding dress, hence the title, but the year was 1935.

Laundry Day
9x6 watercolor drawn yesterday then painted today in between bouts of flooding rain. So this sunny subject in Nassau was perfect. It was a WetCanvas weekend drawing event hosted by Li Newton who lives off and on there on the island. Support used is Canson 140 lb cold press paper/Daniel Smith paints.
