Smiling Woman

8x6 mixed media collage on matboard done today.  Sketched with a black ink marker on top of collaged newsprint, paper, white acrylic paint was used along with Montana acrylic markers.  Watercolor crayons provided facial shadows.

Ancient Woman Statue

5.5x4.25 watercolor, white gel pen, and pencil on old bank statement paper done today.  This scan is darker than the original painting which is soft grey background.

Figure in Watermedia with Collage

15x22 watermedia figure on hot press paper 140 lb; charcoal drawing was done after old phone book pages adhered and dried.  My demo above was in gouache.  Collaged paper cocktail napkins made up her sweater top.  Accents added using ink, watersoluble oil pastels, Caran D'Ache pastels.  Reference was my photo of a model named Karen and of course looks nothing like the real Karen. If you look closely you can see a tooth image from a yellow page dental ad above her left eye at her hairline.  Too much fun with this type art which may not be for you but it is for me.  The title of the painting is "Shasta Daisy".

Blue Jeanz Girl

22x15 watercolor over ink contour line drawing on Arches 140 lb cold press paper.  Last April or March I drew the figure with Micron .01 pen then did the design, but felt it had something lacking.  For one thing I should not have stamped into her face with bubble wrap so decided this week to cover most of that with Liquitex acrylics.  I also added eye shadow, fingernail polish, and one earring...what girl is complete without these most vital beauty supplies!  Background value was deepened with phthalocyanine blue green acrylic.  This was intended to resemble a self portrait as I'm always in jeans with a purse slung over my shoulder and in a hurry to get to painting!
