Across the Moors
6x6 watercolor in sketchbook 80 lb paper done last week, another imaginary abstract landscape; I was imagining how the moors might look if you were gazing across. A limited palette of Payne's gray, Perylene maroon, and quinacridone gold was used.

Broken Fence
7x9 watercolor using White Nights paints on 80 lb sketchbook paper done last week as part of another online challenge on WetCanvas! in the Watercolor forum. Ref courtesy CMorPaint and is a scene in Canada. I took the liberty of altering the fence rails as they were straight in the photo. Most artists know to provide a way into a composition rather than block viewers out with a full fence.

Threatening Rain
6x6 watercolor on 80 lb Masters Touch sketchbook paper done last week using mostly Moonglow paint by Daniel Smith. This hue is made of three colors: Anthraquinone red, viridian, and ultramarine blue. Due to its granulation properties it is a favorite for clouds.

Backcountry Barn
12x9 watercolor on Fluid 140 lb cold press paper, an imaginary country scene of a rundown old barn. The rocky landscape foreground was fun to paint wet in wet in layers as was the middle ground. The fence is still up so suppose someone is running cattle. Storm clouds are building up overhead. When dry, splattering was done for textural effects.
