Backwoods Bluejay
5x7 watercolor, painted today, of this jay surveying his autumn landscape and seeing the first snowflakes falling. He's my attempt featured in WetCanvas Weekend Drawing Event in which participants have 2 hours to draw and paint their choice from 16 photo references provided. Reference courtesy maltman.

Really love the blue jay, Kay! One of my very favorite birds. Great background also.
This is so beautiful!
Gorgeous--I really love the jay: such a great shade of blue. But your background is phenomenal: so interesting but not detailed!
(I will have to go check out that Wet Canvas challenge!)
Thank you Dean and Prerana, my WetCanvas buddies, and thanks Laura. Please join us each weekend, Laura, for a whole lot of fun in the All Media Art Event forum there. Each one is listed on the home page for easy access.
