Winter Meadowlark
12x9 watercolor using White Nights paints on Canson 140 lb cold press paper done a few days ago from several old wildlife photos. I enjoyed the winter quiet solitude of the lone meadowlark and the wild grasses.

Western Meadowlark
8x5.5 watercolor on Strathmore Visual Journal sketched yesterday and painted today for another WetCanvas! weekend drawing event where we have 2 hours to select an image and paint it (ref courtesy Dave Slaughter). My pencil sketch was 15 minutes then 1 hour to paint this vignette.
