9x12 watercolor on Canson 140 lb cold press paper done over last weekend while in New Mexico. The red tile roof of the house caught my eye; temp was 91 degrees and the sun beat down on the top of crepe myrtles, hollyhocks, and other plants. Its gate was a faded red as well. When dry I splattered periwinkle blue in the foreground.

Trumpet Vine
15x11 watercolor on 140 lb cold press Canson paper done today as part of WetCanvas Weekend Drawing Event. Host is Oty from Greece who posted 16 images giving us 2 hours to draw and paint our choice. I chose a house but made it white instead of dull red and gave it an orange red roof. Trumpet vines were very stunning in front of the property.

Shutters in Belize
22x15 watercolor painted from photos I took while in Belize City; this old white wooden house had been let go and run down as were most of the older stately homes and mansions the British built. Its fence also was trying to hold on with tall spindly white pickets guarding the secrets within. Palm fronds and tropical flowering bushes nicely framed a lone green shuttered window.
