4.25x6 alcohol inks, India ink, and collage on book text scrap done today, another in my woman series Yesterday I did a pulled print with the page from an alcohol ink work having too much ink on it. This gave a nice blue and gray abstract background. She has her eyes closed thinking of something very satisfying.

Messy Woman
14x11 alcohol inks and black India ink on glossy paper completed today after getting an abstract background started over the weekend. Another in my woman series, I used black ink for eyes, a suggestion of a nose and lip midline. The underpainting can be seen below that was also a pulled print from my foamcore backing board.

Flirty Woman
6x3.5 mixed media collage on archival foamcore begun Friday then completed yesterday. Beginning with alcohol inks several warm colors were added then a blue green. India ink and a chopstick started the facial features with eyebrow first, then eye, hair strands, mouth and nose. I messed up the nose with an ink spill so simply cut out vintage book text and collaged over it, then painted that with acrylics. Colored hair strands are blues, reds, and pink acrylic as is her eye and lips. White gel pen was used on her mouth and highlights of her eye.

Butterfly Woman
9x12 India inks and charcoal on Canson 140 lb cold press paper done this afternoon, another in my series of women. This imaginary contemporary woman has multiple colors in the background for her hair and fluttering butterflies. Her proportions are not exact as this is not a photorealistic work. I like working with Dr. Ph. Martin's Bombay inks and my acrylic brushes; inks can be thinned with water and perform identical to watercolors or acrylics. When dry they are permanent, lightfast, and shiny.
